Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful and busy Easter weekend around here! We were able to spend lots of time together and with family. It all started Friday evening with an Easter Egg Drop put on by Josh's parent's church. A helicopter flew over their high school football field and dropped thousands of eggs! Noah was in complete awe of the "copter". He loved it!

It was crazy crowded so he only managed to get three eggs, and he really only got those three because his Aunt Rachel jumped into the pileup with all the kids to grab him some! He looks sad with his one little egg here, but really I think he couldn't have cared less. Thank goodness! His buddy Parker did seem a little distraught that he didn't get any more eggs. Ha!
Saturday morning we went with my parents to the country club where they had an Easter egg hunt, pictures with the Easter bunny, and a petting zoo. Noah would have been perfectly happy to hang out in the petting zoo the entire time, and actually that's basically what he did.

One of Noah's girlfriends, Laney, was in town from Fayetteville so they got to hang out too. Laney's mom is one of my dearest friends, and we've been friends for almost 25 years! Hard to believe. We got this cute pic of Noah & Laney together, but don't let their innocent looks fool you. They both literally threw these bunnies right after the picture was taken!

Noah did pretty well with the Easter egg hunt. He loved the first part, when all the kids headed over to where the eggs were hidden, because he thought it was a race and he was determined to win. Ha! He got bored with the actual "hunting" after he found 5 eggs and decided he'd rather head back over to the petting zoo. He also threw a pink egg out of his basket and only kept the blue, green and orange ones!

His reaction to the Easter Bunny was pretty much a repeat of his visit with Santa this past Christmas. That's about what I expected!
Later that afternoon we dyed eggs at Mimi's house with Rachel & Brian, the girls, and Micah & Kelsey. Josh missed out because he was at the office. This is the only egg dying picture that I got. Right after this Noah poured an entire cup of red dye into his lap. He was trying to look at the egg. After that I decided that he was done with egg dying :) Maybe next year.

They also built their bunny nests so that the Easter Bunny would know where to put their Easter baskets. I love this tradition in Josh's family! You'll have to excuse Noah's half-nakedness, his dye-covered shorts were in the washing machine :)

Sunday morning Noah was excited to see what the Easter Bunny left for him!

We had a wonderful service at church this morning! The worship and message were both incredible today. I just love our church! And Noah had a blast in the nursery, with 18 other kids in his class--and that's only one of 4 services, and one of I think 3 two-year-old classes during that service! The poor nursery workers looked a little overwhelmed! I didn't manage to get a very good picture of him by himself, but Noah sure looked handsome in his Easter duds! We did manage to get a family picture (at the top of the post),which was really my only goal so I was happy!

After church we had lunch at Mimi & Papa Jim's, and it turned out that the Easter bunny left a basket for Noah there too! He was thrilled!

This evening we wrapped up the weekend at my parent's house with a cookout and Easter Egg Hunt. It was a lot of fun, and I was impressed that all 3 kids actually got into finding the eggs!

Sweet Emma loved hunting eggs! At one point she found Noah's filled basket that he had set down and thought she struck gold :)

Whew! It was quite a weekend, just typing it out wears me out a little. We have an exciting week ahead of us too--ultrasound on Wednesday, when we'll finally find out if we're having a boy or a girl, and Noah's birthday and party on Saturday! Stay tuned!
