It's hard to believe that, as of March 1, Sam is 2 1/2 years old. He's getting on up there. And he's just the sweetest, funniest, cutest thing.

Sam is quite a little chatterbox. For quite awhile now we've been able to easily carry on conversations with him. His teachers at school and Bible Study are often saying that he's the talkative one in the class. No doubt that as a September 1st baby, this is mostly due to the fact that he is the very oldest kid in class. But he's also just a talkative little guy. His favorite word of the moment is "wonderful". As in, "Ohhh, turkey and cheese for lunch?! That's wonderful!" Or, "Look at the purple flowers, Mommy" "Oh yeah, aren't they pretty?" "No they aren't pretty. They're wonderful" Well, ok then.

We recently put a twin bed in Sam-O's room, alongside his crib. And while he thinks that having a big boy bed is just great, he has no interest in actually sleeping in it. Every time we ask him if he wants to try sleeping in his big boy bed he says, "No. I sleep in MY bed!" Same goes for his little potty. Novel idea, but not so interested in making the switch.

So far Sam has proven to be very easy to discipline (certainly when compared to a another little boy when he was this age). He's one of those kids that I always heard about but never believed existed. Nine times out of ten, he will stop whatever he is doing after hearing a stern "No!" or especially after being sent to time out (and willingly going! without putting up a fight!) Now that I've written it out, he'll probably turn on me.

Sam-Sam is a huge fan of Woody & Buzz, Lightning McQueen, and the Zac Brown Band. He loves Mickey Mouse and Team Umizoomi. He plays very well by himself and prefers it a lot of the time, but also loves attention from his big bro. His favorite songs are "The Farmer in the Dell" and "Old McDonald Had a Farm." He loves to sing the blessing before dinner. He's a big fan of his friends Bennett, Brooks, and Charlie and he asks about them often. He is a major people-person and has never met a stranger.

And one more thing...

Right after his 3rd birthday, Sam will no longer be the baby in our family. He is joining the Big Bro team!
