FIVE months!

This past month has flown by and little Sambo is now 5 months old! Here's a little bit about what he's up to, for memory's sake:

• Last week he went to the doctor and weighed right at 18 lbs!
• He wears size 2-3 diapers, and mostly size 6-12 month/6 month/some 9 month clothes. A few 3-6 month shirts still fit him.
• He takes 5, 5-ounce bottles a day. Often he only drinks 4 oz though, and at bedtime it's actually 6 oz.
• He still spits up like crazy. I think maybe Noah grew out of that at around 6 months? It sure will be nice when that is over, I must say!
• Poor baby has had a stomach bug, a bad cold, and a double ear infection in the past month :( Unfortunately I think having a germ-y big bro around is going to make sweet Sam a little more sickly as a baby than Noah was.
• We took a break from feeding him rice cereal after he had his stomach bug, because he didn't really have any interest anymore. A part of me is not in a huge hurry with food, but another part of me is ready to start making baby food again! We'll probably try the cereal again soon and see what he thinks, then go from there.
• His cold & ear infection threw his sleeping off a little bit for awhile, but he's back to sleeping great all night again for the past few nights (knock on wood). He typically sleeps from around 8:00 pm to 6:30/7:00 am.
• His morning nap has gotten a bit better, but we seem to be out & about often in the mornings to it's hard to really get it down. On a normal, at-home day he naps from 8:30-10:00. He always takes a great afternoon nap from 2:30-5:00.
• He rolls over both ways and has just recently begun to figure out that he can continue rolling in one direction to get places.
• He is getting closer to sitting up on his own. He'll sit on his own for a few seconds at a time.
• We are full-force into the drooling buckets, chewing on everything stage. Sophie the Giraffe is his best friend right now!
• He is finding his voice and squeals SO LOUD. Such happy little sounds!
• His favorite toy is hands-down is doorway jumper. He will just jump & jump, squealing and smiling all along!
• He also loves the exersacuer/walker combo that Mimi & Papa Jim gave him for Christmas. Noah likes to push him in it--sometimes Sam likes that, and sometimes not so much :)
• He's also really happy to lay on a big blanket surrounded by toys.
• He seriously laughs--like, reaaaally hard--whenever you take his clothes off. I think it's a combo of him being extremely tickleish and the fact that he just loves being naked!
• He truly adores his big brother. I'm not exaggerating, his whole face lights up every.single.time. he sees Noah for the first time in awhile, and he just loves for Noah to talk to him. Noah loves his too, sometimes a little too much. But it doesn't bother Sam one bit when Noah's "loving" gets to be too much, he's just happy to have attention from his brother!
• He is happy, happy, happy. It is so easy to get a smile out of him!
