Our little wild man is 9 months old today! I can't believe he's been out in the world as long as he was growing in my belly! I won't have his latest stats until we go see Dr. Feelbetter next week, but here are some things I want to remember about sweet Noah at 9 months old.
- He is into everything. You have to be quick on your feet around this little guy, and don't even think about leaving a plate of food or a drink within his reach! (learned that one the hard way). He is a super-fast crawler and can get into something he shouldn't before I even have time to realize he has moved!
- He is quite the little socialite and hasn't shown any signs of stranger anxiety whatsoever. He is so happy when we go running errands and he can smile, wave and say "hi" to literally every single person we see. And he gets a little agitated when people don't say hi back. He doesn't necessarily get upset, but he will continue to say it over & over and louder & louder until he gets a response! Most people find this endearing and just melt as soon as he smiles and says hi, but when we come across someone who isn't exactly a baby person his persistence can be a little embarrassing! He's also quite the flirt with ladies, particularly blond ones!
- He loves playing pat-a-cake. Mimi and Mama Dot have taught him well! As soon as we start to sing the little song, he starts clapping his hands and grinning from ear to ear.
- Yesterday Josh taught him to give a high-five and he loves that too. When we raise our hand and say "high five" he lifts up his chubby little hand and starts cracking up before we've even high-fived him yet!
- His current favorite toy is his push walker, because he just absolutely loves to walk around. If I had to guess I'd say that this will be the month of his first steps, but who knows. He also loves trucks, but mostly cause he likes to turn them over and spin the wheels! And he loves his countless balls too--he has basketballs, footballs, baseballs, bouncy balls, etc etc. He is a little boy for sure, loving trucks and balls!
- His favorite foods are bananas and Gerber Puffs, especially the corn and banana ones.
- He has 4 teeth--the bottom middle ones are all the way in and the upper lateral incisors (the ones right next to the middle ones) are about 1/3 of the way in. I hope he gets the top middle ones soon or he's going to have a silly looking grin! :)
- He still spoils us by being a great sleeper. Other than the few weeks that he was battling an ear infection, his nighttime sleeping remains great. The last week or so naps haven't been quite as consistent as they used to be. Though morning naps are about the same, he's decided that in the afternoon he'd rather sleep an hour and a half rather than two or two and a half hours. I still can't complain!!
- He wears 12-18 month clothes and a size 5 wide (!) shoe. The guy at the kiddie shoe store said his shoe size is average for a 15-month-old. But Josh wears a 13 or 14 so he comes by it honestly!
